Pay It Forward GIVE AWAY!!

Today's post is about gratitude. I have so much to be thankful for every day of my life. My family is number one! The blessings of good friends- the ones I can have tea with on my porch- and YOU, my "virtual" friends. My talents- sewing, photography, loving children! So much more...but today is about gratitude for good health. I had a checkup last week and not only did everything go well, but I did something I have been dreading: I had my first mammogram. Another blessing: good results!! I have been wanting to find a little way to share my joy on my blog. Give-aways are always fun and today I found a perfect match for me!

Rabbit Rabbit Creations is having a Pay It Forward Sale! The idea is that you buy a Rabbit Rabbit PDF pattern (on sale, no less!) and then Jasmin will send the same pattern to a friend of yours. I just love this idea and it's a great deal! Since ALL of my sewing friends are "virtual," I asked if I could use my PIF pattern as a give-away and Jasmin kindly said "yes"! You are actually going to win 2 patterns, because I chose to share the fabulous Bundle of: Wrapped Up Top & Origami Skirt! AND you can choose the ladies' bundle or girls' sizes!!
If you don't want to wait to win, or want to Pay It Forward yourself, head on over to Rabbit Rabbit on etsy and use code: KINDNESS15 to save 15% and send some pattern love to a friend!! Hurry, because the sale ends tomorrow!!

Now, to win this fabulous bundle (in your choice of ladies' or girls' sizes) all you have to do is leave me a comment, telling me a way that you have "Paid it Forward" (no matter how small). I would love it if you want to become a follower here or on facebook, but it's not required! I will pick a winner on Friday morning, so you have till Thursday midnight to enter.

  1. Do you know about Skirting the Issue? I've been participating in that, though lately, I've been helping a novice sewer with a project that she's had laying around for two years--making three dresses into one. She got three identical, different size prom dresses on clearance two years ago and has been attempting to make them into one, more modest dress. I've been helping ehr do it. :)

  2. What a great idea! I saw the pay it forward the other day, but I don't have a pattern budget at the moment.

The last couple of months I've been sewing little clothes and quilts for a local pregnancy crisis shelter. I've blogged everything over at www.craftyhour.com. I'm hoping that a little handmade goodness will bring some hope and love to a young girl on her own with a baby.

  3. We sent four handmade pillowcase dresses to Haiti...via another blogging friend's church mission trip. We are always amazed at such a generous, creative group of ladies the sewing world has...

  5. I pay it forward by sewing for my work friend's daughters. They can't sew (no matter how much I try to get them to!) and I think every kid should have homemade with love clothes!

  8. I've paid it forward in small ways like holding open a door for someone whose hands are full. Also, in bigger ways, word a mission trip to Mexico and one to Tanzania a few years back. But, I realize I need to do more every day things when I think about it. Thanks for the giveaway!

  9. That skirt is really cute! I like the top too. One way I have been paying it forward is by going running with a 13 year old at the camp I work at. The kids can't run alone, so I offered to run with him. He was so happy because he loves to run.

  10. Posting for Tami, who commented on facebook, but couldn't get blogger to work:
My pay it forward is making weighted vest for autistic kids in a social group that my son is a part of! They can be very pricey!

  11. My husband and I pay it forward by being sponsors of Mission Trips and giving scholarships for youth camps Because we are financially able, we often help someone anonymously with a financial gift. Hopefully I will have time soon to use my love of sewing, knitting and all things crafty to play it forward with some sewn items.

  14. what a sweet thing to do for your friends!
    my pay it forward?
i was able to pay a bill for someone who needed help. we've been through it the last few years financially and this year God has really turned things around for us. it felt wonderful to help a dear friend who was on danger of losing his home, but then to leave him the "contract" to pay us back torn in half anf marked "paid in full" knowing that God will provide for us as hr alwways has felt good. the last few years have taught us a whole new level of living frugally so we won't miss it. and our friend won't have the stress of worrying about paying us back or losing our friendship. it felt much better to give a gift.... and to have the ability to do so after years of living month to month not knowing if that would be the month we lost our house (i got sick and we were navigating the diagnosis/treatment/disability path when we lost my income).

  15. I've been sewing pillowcases for kids in my life (extended family, neighbors, friends from church) who need an extra boost for whatever reason. It's amazing how much a few pieces of fabric customized to them can change a mood or attitude...sorainima at gmail dot com
