Guess What Followed Me Home?

...and a little Easter inspiration.

A children's clothing store near me is going out of business. It is not a heirloom shop; we don't have those in my part of the country. It is a nice shop, though, and I am sad to see it go. I bought Rosie's kindergarten graduation dress there and the cutest little Christmas elf suit when Davy was a baby. Anyway, they are selling the "fixtures" as well and this included 3 children's dress forms. I had spotted them a few weeks ago, but at $100 they were too expensive. I went back yesterday and bought this tiny (about size 1-2) form for $50. This will be a fabulous tool for photographing things to share with you!

Here is the little dress form. I'll have to think of a good name for it.

This is a little dress I made when I was first learning how to machine embroider. It has a vintage duck from Emblibrary. I have used this design a few times and it stitches very well. This little dress or "apron" is a size 1. I used the Maggie's Classics basic a-line pattern for this. It is a poly/cotton broadcloth with an inexpensive eyelet trim. The dress is lined, which makes it soft inside and covers the back of the embroidery. I think this would be cute for Easter, but not on Andy!! I am making slow progress on his romper, but I really like what I have done so far. I hope to work on it this weekend.

Little ducky dress on new dress form; notice my daffodils just coming up?
