My Favorite Little Pink Dress

This is one of my favorite dresses. I love the smocking, embroidery, scalloped hem, everything. I also love the sleeves. They are a very different shape. They are very full, but not puffy. They don't droop and look adorable on chubby little arms. This dress is a size 2 and was worn by Katie and Rosie for their second birthdays.

Katie turned 2 when Rosie was just 10 days old. I don't remember how I managed to make this dress, as I was very sick with hyperemesis for most of my pregnancy with Rosie. I do know that if you look at the smocking, you'll notice a few bullion roses are missing! I guess I ran out of time.

Here's a close-up of the sleeve. The pattern piece is almost an upside-down U, with the sleeve very wide, but not very tall and cut in a sharp curve. The bottom of the sleeve is also a curve.
The pattern is Beaucoup: Ellen Briggs Party Dress and I made it just like the one on the pattern.
I hope to post more often this week; I don't know where the days go! Thank you to everyone who left such nice comments on the little smocked romper. We're off to have Andy's picture taken in it later today. Also, thank you to the ladies who became followers this week; I really appreciate it!! Have a great Sunday, everyone!
